Default anyone know where ihis goes?

I'm going to be installing my engine next week after the new parts get here and I don't remember unplugging this connector when I dropped the engine. anyone now what it goes to?

Looks like the plug on the SAI changeover valve, behind the brass caniater (valve) at the top of your photo.

Or the knock sensor right next to the connection Ahsai mentioned (not sure off hand if they're both 2 wire plugs - I'm sure the plugs themselves are different but they may both be 2 conductors). ** it's going to be fun trying to connect it with all the hoses and intake plenum son the way 😲

I can't find any place for to plug in. I've tried to find it in the service manual but don't see it. Could it be an accessory option that my car didn't come with?

That's a Bosch EV1 connector. There are only 5 places it can plug into on the engine, other than the fuel injectors. 2 knock sensors, one changeover valve for the SAI, one changeover valve for the intake reasonanace flap, and one evap purge/regeneration valve. The last two are right above the alternator. Did you find all 5 are plugged in?

Maybe the Variocam solenoid? Does it reach that far?

All of those are connected. I think it may go to an automatic transmission. There also is a vacuum line that is capped off.
If it was an automatic where would the coolant change over valve be? Looking at the service manual that may be where it goes.

You may be able to trace it by the color coding -refer to the Wiring Diagram in Bentley
Ahsai is correct -the SAI change over valve has a connector exactly like that - with the wire clip. There are others of course with the same design.

Where on the engine would this be? It looks like it has the same plug and vacuum line that I'm talking about. the picture is in the automatic transmission section.

I just went through the task of swapping a harness from a 99 motor onto a 2000 motor. I know that I had that plugged vacuum line, and for some reason, I think there was a random plug not being used when I did the swap. It being for an automatic would jive, since both cars I was working from were sticks.
