MB sold a flawed motor that quickly failed to one guy on here a little while back. Their reputation is certainly less than FSI's, and dealing with Martin after a purchase can go south with his pugilistic tendencies. Last week he tried to pan LNE with a facebook post about a failed m96. But if MB frequently sold dying m96s or ones with serious build quality issues, I think we'd see a lot more bad press.
