Default wooshing noise

Search is usually my friend, but I'm stumped on this one.

At low RPM and when I come to a stop, there is a wooshing noise from what seems to be upper drivers side of the engine compartment (around the coolant expansion tank). I thought for the longest time that there was a motorcycle a couple of blocks away rolling on the throttle and driving away, but after 6 or so occurrences, realized it was actually coming from my car. Doesn't happen all the time and I'm not overly worried about it, just curious about what the noise is coming from. I will try to get a video.

Rookie guess... I had heard something one time on mine but I think it was spoiler retracting...

Video will help - does the noise go away after you apply the throttle and then come on again when slowing down?

Yes, but it does not come on all the time. I typically notice it after harder driving and about to come to a stop / immediately after stopped. Heard it again this evening and it only lasts less than a second

It's not the spoiler as I hear it at low speeds when it hasn't been deployed.

I should get video of it, but I've got a really bad habit of not using my phone while driving.

Dan, neither AC or blower were on. Think I'll have to roll around with cell phone video going to capture this...

Sounds like it may be your secondary air pump. A pollution control thingie in the lower left of your engine compartment. It typically comes on when you mentioned, just after driving and you come to a light and are idling. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Normal.

Sounds like the SAI pump as billyboy mentioned, I cant imagine anything else making noise on bank 1-3 side as there isn't anything moving other than the SAI in that area other than the alternator (which is unlikely).

It's the engine bay fan coming on. Mine does it too.
