Smile 2002 update

I am considering updating my 2000 spec C4 Cab to the latest spec
externally, this includes new headlights, front wings, front and rear
bumpers, and lastly tail pipes. Has anybody else consider this or
successfully completed this update

I know of someone who has done this successfully. That being said, he is a used Porsche parts guy in Ontario, Canada. His name is Randy Meyers of Whaletail Productions and you can contact him at 1-519-699-4911. He has a 1999 that he's converted to 2002 spec and added the new Aero kit (new GT3 kit).

I talked to a fellow at Getty Design in So Cal several months ago when I added my 03' GT3 side skirts and he said they were working on a project to do the same thing, lights and all, so there might be another source for you to try for parts or info. Personally, I don't care about the headlights but of course you can't use that great new GT3 front bumper cover without them. Please keep us posted on how or if this works out for you.

A good friend of mine owns a reputable body repair and repainting place, so the labour and painting cost will be reduced, I have worked out that the parts cost will be £2500, this includes the latest GT3 front bumper and side skirts. One thing I have read though is that the GT3 bumper should only be used in conjunction with the rear GT3 spoiler, as the front spoiler generates much more down force. Planning to make the update very soon so will post some before and after shots. I am sure that everyone will agree that it will be money well spent

I'm curious if it wouldn't more prudent ( I sound like George SR.) to trade your MY00 in on a MY02.

I've just updated my 1999 C2 cab with the updated look, but the narrow body TT/C4S look. You can go with the GT3 or 2002 Carrera look as well. I will upload photos sometime this weekend. You can see photos - before and after the conversion using factory parts. I used to have the factory aerokit but decided to take the plunge and update the exterior completely. You will need everything you've mentioned as parts are concerned including both new front fenders. The only thing that stays up front is the hood. The lights will need new trays and harness. Most importantly the rear TT bumper will have to be modified to fit your narrow body. You will need to purchase TT tips and fabricate a pipe going from your muffler to the tips (since they are closer in) by a muffler specialist. There is also a piece to cover the vents simliar to the C4S that you will need. If you go with just the updated 2002 C4 rear bumper you willl not have to deal with the process that I've mentioned. You can anticipate a cost of roughly 7-10K for parts and labor. If Don reads this - I wanted to say thanks for your advice during my conversion process. Good Luck!!!
