Guage Color Upgrade for a 996
Hello to all,
I would like to take the time to write a review on gauge overlays that were purchased from WhiteGauges.net
Firstly, I have no affiliation with WhiteGauges.net and this post is to serve as an informational review.
Pre-installation
I was looking to upgrade my factory black gauges in my '99 C2, with an OEM cluster from eBay. However, I was hesitant to spend a few hundred buck on a set of used gauges.
My next option was to look for after market gauges, which are too around a few hundred bucks.
I came across whitegauges.net and reviewed their products. Below I will include my pros, cons, images and rating out of 10.
Cons:
I opted for a Red Tachometer and the rest white. During the install, I added just the red overlay and was please with the look, therefore I did not add the other white overlays.
The installation took me no more than 30 minutes.
Due to the blinker lights not visible on my red option overlay and the line not being perfectly straight, I must give it:
If you are considering new gauge faces, give these a try.

Cons:
- - Some lines are not perfectly straight, but that could only be seen when you are up close
- - During the day, the blinker light will not come through the RED decal overlay (might be fixed by having the blinker area cut out)
- - The instructions state to use the dash lights for proper alignment, however during the day, it is not possible (might consider doing away from sunlight)
- - Price. White overlays are under $30 - I spent $49.99 due to the special order red tachometer
- - Color options are extra but they have wide selection
- - Overlays are easy to remove
- - Installation is a easy as the needle DOES NOT have to be removed
- - White color option is not affected by the lack of light, as it is transparent, thus blinker is fine
- - To me, it woke up my interior
- - Detailed instructions included, but Rennlist...
- - Amazing communication and customer service - communicated with Amie Bergstrom

Nice work, how are they installed without removing the needles?
I attempted to remove the needles once I gave up and sent it to a shop.
In the end I went back to black though...

Here are their instructions. There is a hole precut for the center.
Website link - As of today the white face gauges are $19.99.

When I opened up the cluster I remember how hard that hidden clip was!
Those instructions show that the needle was moved, the needle should never be physically moved! haha
