Default Sold my Cab... got a Millennium Edition coupe!

I didn't really want a car this dark again, but when I saw her in person that objection flew right out the window! The paint on this thing is amazing!

PPI performed at Tills Import Auto Clinic in Ft Myers, and they strained the oil for me and inspected the filter. They found gasket sealant residue in the oil filter (which matched color to a bunch beaded around the outside of the sump plate) they found rear brakes at 30%, seeping valve cover gaskets and suggested changing the drive belt in the not too distant future. But most importantly no intermix and good cooling system..., so nothing to stand in the way of making a deal. Also, car was given the thumbs up for me to make the 150 mile drive home even though it had been a bit of a garage queen over the last six years. Only 3300 driven since IMSB swap in 2011 and only 140 miles since 2014! But the car did great on the way home, even with a solid hour of putzing about in stop-n-go rush hour traffic in Sarasota.

And along the way, I was lucky enough to have both cars here at the same time for a 996 photo shoot today!

Anyway, without further ado, here is the evidence! Millennium Edition "164" is now in my possession!

Very nice! After my friend drove my 99 last year, he found a Millennium edition also, he has added the taco wing and the side skirts to it....looks awesome, I love that car! The paint is awesome.

C'mon, Bill.... they're not that bad.... I think they look pretty good on black cars especially. I even bought a set and was going to put them on my black cab, but the all clear MKi headlights grew on me. I'm going to sell the unused covers on eBay soon, no plans to ever use them...

They are glued on, I tried taking one of them off, but it would not come off easily. The headlights are in pristine shape, so I just left them. They look pretty good IMO. Not saying I wouldn't want another set without them, but they are litronics. Not cheap to replace.

I've only seen one car that looked good with them and it too was black. They just don't look right on any other color to me...

Paul, I used to think you had one of the best looking cars around

Jaetee, congrats on the pick up. Such a hard color to get to come out in pics.

You win. The ME is the only one of the specials I would like. I've never seen a decent picture that does justice to the chromaflair paint. It is very different in person, me likey.

Thanks, guys...

The seller was a very cool guy and the transaction itself couldn't have been any better. After the PPI we went to lunch at the Hooters in Cape Coral and then to the bank to verify the wire transfer went through. The best part of all of this is that the seller owned another M.E. car and we drove around town in as a mini-Millennium Edition parade.

As far as comparing my old and new cars... I drove them back-to-back yesterday and I do think my C2 Cab feels just a hair faster under immediate acceleration, while the C4 M.E. puts power to the ground more smoothly using all four wheels and seemingly shifts smoother and feels easier to drive. The C4 takes some of the edginess out of the raw 911 C2 driving experience, just enough to be noticeable... and not necessarily in a bad way, it's just different. And while I am really liking the C4 driving dynamics, I won't rule out modding the car into a C2 at some point if I feel the need to scratch the C2 itch at some point in the future. Good to know that's an option...
