Curb Rash Repair in SF Bay Area??
#3
Jeeze no, Kirb. I'm getting real nervous about being out of warranty.
Some of the current threads are scaring the hell out of me (leaks, new engines, etc.)
I'm preparing it for sale.
Nice hearing from you, hope your bride is doing well..

Torags,
there is DIY on here somewhere about it. If not, have you asked the dealer who they'd recommend? Worse case, contact: http://www.wheeltechnologies.com i think they do a swap deal, they send a fixed one to you, you send your chewed one to them...its like $125...
Phil996cab99, you can 100% get it fixed, had it done myself on my turbo IIs, 1st day I had it, mom wanted to go for a spin and she clipped a curb
stratpa, curb rash is when you rub against a curb and chew up the side/lip of your rims (either parallel parking or taking a corner too close)...

01 C4 thanks for the clarification.
Torags: with that in mind, my dealer has a "refurbishing" option which costs a couple of hundred and they come back like new. As a matter of fact I strongly suspect that a lot of rims that are sold "new" are good scuffed rims that were just refinished. You might want to see if your dealer has that service. If not another option is to find a good used car dealer that specializes in performance cars and they most certainly will have someone who refinishes for them. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses.
I got Wheel America in Union City @ $109/ wheel over telephone.
Wheel must have no tire on it & turn around is 1 day.
I'll see if I can make a deal with Howard tire San Mateo, to keep the car over. They will give $19 over tirerack price for S0 3 tires, that includes after sale balancing & flat repair down the road. Sounds fair to me.

I've used wheels america before...
They do good to great work and are FAST and Reliable. They're around the corner from my office in the east bay. If you go to Howard tire/Wheel Works in san mateo...they (wheels america) could pickup and drop off the wheel at that store and save you alot of time and energy. Just make sure that the store/tire installers don't try to mark up the repair too much more than what it would cost to drive back and forth. Time is money, as I always say.....(my .02 cents)
