Default Perfect indent in rotor

Look at that image. Tell me what you all think. I'm gonna put new rotors and pads on Monday. But it's deep!

You’re referring to the groove I assume. I’ve seen dimples on rotors that are used to judge rotor wear. I wonder if this is an intentional groove to monitor wear???

Also the grove wont affect performance. I would pull the pads and make sure nothing is stuck in here and just keep using the rotor if they r within spec. The rotor will wear to the grove eventually. No need to waste $ if they still have the correct overall thickness.

Thats not the end of the world.....no need to replace unless the whole rotor(s) have a rig on them.....I would pull the caliper off and get the stone out of it! It's an easy job to do!

Happened on my VW, the head of a sheetrock screw somehow got between the pad & rotor. Plucked the screw out, put it back together, ran for years without a hitch.

Follow that little groove right around to the bottom side of the caliper/pads and you will find something stuck in there....

That had to make some noise as it was happening but I've seen this, especially when VIR used to have a pebble paddock.

Yep a rock.
I swapped out the whole rotor and pads at a whopping 68 bucks on Amazon!

at 68 bux for the set, I doubt they use uni-directional rotors. Probably just a single part number for both sides, unlike the better brands.

Many manufacturers now utilising uni-directional rotors.

Amazon today $248 for a pair. Pad looks wrong size, AZ does not say they will fit. Maybe the rotor fits, but the pads in kit don't work, you use original/OEM/aftermarket-brand replacement pads?

YMMV

Chevrolet has been doing this for years with Corvette.

Lotus Elise/Exige is another one I distinctly remember.

I beg to differ. I have the set. And the pads fit. You can't tell a book by its cover
Pads perfect fit I just got lucky.

So folks. The rotors and pads fit for the set I posted.
