Thanks sjg, a Porsche Indy shop who is run by a guy who worked for Porsche for 15 years told me otherwise, but like I said, if the stereo shop can't see any wiring issues with the stereo, then the stealership will be my last resort.

Word to the wise hawk. Take it to your nearest Porsche service center and explain that you "think" it was left in transport mode and wondered if they'd be "so kind" to help you switch it back. maybe... and ONLY maybe, that may save you a little $$. Remember, you can catch MORE flies with honey, than you can vinegar.

No on #1, yes on rest for me too.

How would the car get put in transport mode to begin with?

No on all counts. I also have been told the car is in transport mode and can only be corrected by the Dealer.

+1 on the dealership, you've already been told incorrect information by other parties regarding transport mode IMO time for a trip to someone who knows what they are doing.

You need to be careful with these cars they are very specific and misinformation or lack of information can be costly.

Got the car back and stereo is fixed, LEDs are removed (and their wiring) except for the ones I left in the exterior mirror housing and the interior footwells. The tech checked all the wiring in the car and fixed any issues with the wiring. Interior lights still don't come on so definitely transport mode I guess. I am surprised but what the Porsche shop told me about Transport mode. They said it only could be initiated on the newer cars and couldn't drive more than 10 mph. Apparently they have lost all credibility with me. Anyway to get them removed from the list of shops that are recommended by PCA do you think? Lol. Off to the dealer next.

All the best hawk... hope you get an inexpensive solution from the Porsche service center.

Fingers and toes crossed!

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I have someone interested in buying my car, but he is scared that the interior lights, engine light, and trunk light don’t turn on without the key in the ignition. So I called the stealership and they told me they need the car for an entire day, $180.00 diagnostic fee, and they are booked a week out. So I will swing by Trophy Performance (Indy) tomorrow to see if they can do what the sttached posts state:

If I get time tonight ill go through my PIWIS II in simulation mode to see if I can find exactly where the settings for it are.

I find that if you go to the dealership with the right info you always get a better outcome, happened to me with enabling the CD changer and its why I bought my own PIWIS II

Could you please share the two links in DBJoe996's post? - never mind I found it, realised I was the last to post in that thread and I actually forgot to look it up! Wops sorry!

awesome man! Any help will be great. I mentioned to Keith at the dealership I had found a bunch of information about things we could try and he laughed at the remark and said it needs a diag. I hate the dealership.

For anything electrical, so do I... They couldn't enable my CD changer, I had it done in around 5 minutes including the time it took to boot up my PIWIS... Was the same software version they were using as well, they were just looking in the wrong place.

Okay so spent a bit of time going through each module, nothing under DME or Alarm that indicates "transport mode" or "energy saving mode". However I did find "Vehicle handover" under the additional menu:

Note the "Alarm system was activated" if I had to make an educated guess i'd say this takes the car out of "transport mode"
