Does anyone have this footwell lights option in a 996 ? I always wodered what this little switch with the sun does, are there additional lights and if so where ? how easy would be to retrofit this ? anyone done a retrofit for these lights ?

I think they were standard in 996 turbos but i am not sure .....

I put lights on the console sides, like the option. I think they were boxster trunk lights. Just pick any fixture like a trunk or origional light and cut them in to the side carpet. then wire to the interior door or celing lights

I ordered all the parts from a dealer including switch, I got the oem, not aftermarket led.
dealer also provided wiring diagram. 2003 996 C2

Interesting ... any noticeable difference when installed in the car ? the button in the console switches on two additional lights and all the other cabin lights correct ?
