Default Rennfax in Lincoln Nebraska

Hi fellow ladies and gents.

I have my eye on an 997 Turbo that's located in Lincoln Nebraska in a small used dealership. I spoke to the salesman/owner but the price sounds a little too good to be true. I spoke with an independent PPI company, but they will charge the full price if they go out and can't locate the car. So before I fork out $250 can anyone that's in the area put eyes on the car? I will gladly mail a $50 early Christmas gift card as a return favor.

996pp: I should be able to slide by in the next couple of days, as I live in Lincoln. I am not familiar with this car lot. Seems like an odd place for a lot!? Anything in particular you want other than that the car is physically there? Mind if I ask who you plan on using for PPI? Just wanted to compare who I used.

Thanks wildbilly32
Its carzinspection.com They're not Porsche pros but from my understanding they have inspectors all over the nation that are contracted with them. I have not paid them yet or given any info as when I called they told me that it doesn't matter if they do the inspection or not I would have to pay full price just for them to go out there. Which doesn't sound fair. So if the car does really exist I would also like to talk to your guy if you don't mind sending me his info.

AUTOWORKS at "autoworkslincoln.com". Jim, the owner, has been wrenching on European cars for years and still does. Check out the website and see what you think. They can do most anything you want done and they have always been fair with me. If you call tell George that Bill M. recommended them. I am just their customer and nothing else. They have worked on my C4S, 300ZX and my Rav.

Sounds good. Thanks for the lead. Will he go out to the car or someone needs to take it to them?

Talk to Jim but my guess is he would want it at his place to get it in the air for a complete underneath look. They found some things on my C4S that you would not be able to see unless on a lift. It turned out all good but I think necessary. I'm not sure how good a PPI would be unless lifted!?

12/29/2012 - West Palm Beach, FL
Cabin air filter replaced/cleaned
Clutch replaced
Exhaust repaired
Exhaust system replaced
Four wheel alignment performed
Oil and filter changed
Spark plug(s) replaced
Window tint installed
Wiper(s) replaced

01/09/2013 Coral Springs, FL
Engine/powertrain computer/module checked

Seems like a lot of work in Florida in Dec-Jan...maybe just upgrades? Do Turbos typically get new plugs @ 20K? And new mufflers?

I saw that too Schnell and made me wonder, and from what I have been reading plugs should not need replacing at 20k, but they did have a recall on muffler clamps at some point.

Is this the place?
https://www.bbb.org/nebraska/busines...ts-and-Actions

They have quite an inventory of cars...but the BBB report would bother me - but maybe they changed.

Yes but I also came across this
https://www.bbb.org/nebraska/busines...n-ne-300001716

Which the name of the owner Lemont Woolen also matches at a different address.

I don't want to make any (other) assumptions one way or the other, but your wariness might be warranted.

996pp: I will slide by this place but I, too, am becoming skeptical. Will let you know. Another thing: I Goggled them then clicked their alleged website it loaded blank! HHHHMMMM...

BUSINESS ALERT
A BBB investigation confirmed with the property owner of 1830 Yolande Avenues, Lincoln, Nebraska that there is NO CAR DEALERSHIP AT THIS ADDRESS. This Yolande Avenue address in Lincoln, Nebraska has been advertised on websites including http://havelockmotors.com and most recently at http://lincolnavenuemotors.com. Bogus company names include Havelock Avenue Motors and Lincoln Avenue Motors as well as variations of these names. Consumers contacting the BBB searched for cars online and found this company offering cars with incredible deals. The actual physical address of this entity is unknown

See post #9. A drive-by might clear up some of OP's questions.
