Hi,
does your car have the original gearbox? I'm just susprised because the G96/00 'box that was used with the 3.4l engine was deemed insufficient even for the increased torque of the 3.6l engine, and they upgraded it by putting in an extra bearing on the input shaft and using higher grade steel. Even the upgraded 'box is considered insufficient for the TT, which uses a G50-based box.
Cheers,
Uwe

996supercharged
Hello,
I got my 996 about a month ago, and considering a supercharger,
did you have to perform any internal mods?, and what is the max out psi of the sc you are using? do you still have the stock exhaust?
Regards
Roberto

using the same 17.3% hp and 15.5% lb drivetrain loss figures from stock on this dyno, it's 440 hp and 345 lb. no, i've not done any 0-X testing and probably won't. evo, the manufacturer, is actually getting 430 AT THE WHEELS out of their 3.6L version - and that's without X51 even.

Group buy
Parkman,
Go to the 6speedonline.com site. A few of us are in the proccess of being part of a group buy. 03 C4S is putting the deal together. BTW, today would've been a good day for another DC photo shoot. Maybe one of these upcoming weekends the weather will cooperate.

Since your car is a '99 C2, I don't believe there is an Evoms SC available for it.
I'm in the same boat -- same model, same year. I believe you need e-gas to use their kit.
I'm totally bummed about it.

contact me for group buy. want one for my car. btw i have seen a 3.6 996 with a TPC SC blow it's engine. what a sad sight. but may have been installed or tuned incorrectedly from what i heard. i agree, Todd with evo has a good reputation of putting out good products. yo Todd, can i get one for half price now.

there are 99's with e-gas, my friend has one. either way, my other friend here finished completing two projects on his 996. I will take pictures of the kits and post them for you to see on this board. the first kit was made with a supercharger without aftercooler. the second kit was made using 2 kkk turbos. the supercharged one dynoed in at 380rwhp but it was not completely tuned and thus the hp will probably go up. the second kit has not been dynoed yet but sounds pretty vicious on the road. i'll also ask him for the dyno charts when he dynoes the second car to scan in so you can see the difference. alternatively carlos since you also live in mclean, you can just come see it. i don't think he's selling them though but i'm sure he'd tell you where to get the parts made and where to get things done. When he was making his kit he made three of everything. three brackets, three pulleys, three blowers, etc... one for me, and one each for my friends. the cost was not bad at all. either way, if you're interested in coming to see it (I haven't put one on my car yet, but his is on right now) i'll give him a call and see if you can go over to check out the twin turbo kit and the supercharger kits. he's also on this message board but doesn't come on much. he previously made a supercharger kit for his viper gts and then didn't like it so he got twin turbo's placed on it. 897 rwhp. he wasn't completely satisfied with it (as any of you fellow viper owners know) and ended up selling it. I think he still has the twin turbo kit sitting in his garage though so if any of you viper owners are interested... This guy is the master at tuning his own cars... you have to see his collection. BTW: the sc'ed one runs off a custom piggyback ecu system that adjusts the air/fuel ratio and timing. Since it's a piggy back system it's basically plug and play and you can just fool around with it on your laptop. It's not like the motronics or haltechs where you have to do this and that to get everything right. he also has larger injectors in there.

That sounds pretty interesting! I would like very much to see one, although not now, it's too damn cold. But maybe when things warm up we can get together.
After I made that last post (which was a long time ago) I emailed Todd, and he told me they are working on a version for non e-gas 996's like mine, and that it will be ready next month. So I am interested in following up on that one, too.
