Rear wing/spoiler not rising

Rear wing/spoiler not rising
I have a 99 C2 Cab with hard top. What speed should the wing raise up? Is there a switch inside the car, that when on, it keeps iit down? I am sure at 55, it is not up. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong?
Thanks much!!

its 75mph to get the spoiler up, on all model years.
at any point after its up and you slow to less than 55, it comes down.
and no, there is no way to keep it from going up, as it is neccessary to maintain the car's stability at speeds higher than 75, again 75mph.
edit:
oh and i forgot to add, there IS however, a way to make it stay up.
inside the footwell, on the fuse panel, there is a switch (only1 switch)
press the top of it once to get the spoiler up, you must hold it down for 10seconds to make it go down again.

Moogle, i believe that the tail comes down around 37-38 mpf in the 996 (at least it does in mine).
As for the 993, I think it goes up at 55mph, and does not go back down until the car comes to a virtual stop.

I had a problem where it failed to raise automatically at 75Mph but I could manualy raise it with the switch. Once raised with the switch it would auto retract at 45Mph. When the tail failed to raise at 75Mph, the tail warning light came on on the dash. It would not go out until I restarted the car.
I searched everywhere to try to fix it. I replaced a relay. I almost stripped the tail mechanism down to see if was catching on something. In the end it turned out to simply be a dirty connection in the connector hidden directly behind the right stop light but on the bottom of the engine bay next to the hinge. I pulled the connector apart. cleaned it. Reconnected and hey presto. never had the problem again since.

Quote from page 46 of my 01 owner's manual:
"The rear spoiler automatically extends at approximately 75mph/120 km/h and retracts at approximately 37 mph/60 km/h."

I just took mine out for a spin.
It came up exactly at 75 and lowered exactly at 45. I tried it 3 times....and broke the speed limit 3 times too :-)
I wonder if ths is a ROW verses US difference again?

I also want to say that I think the tail lift feature is ultra cool.
I have weighed up the idea of putting a fixed wing spoiler on my cab
but I would miss the tail lift.
I don't know about you guys but I often see people follow me just to see
the tail go up and then they fall back :-) You can often see them discussing it: "Hey Joe, watch the tail go up on that Porsche. Wow thats so Kewl!"
