For others who are wondering why this is so expensive - access ! I hope the Tech who does this has long skinny fingers and a good supply of band aids !
If you get a wiring diagram , you'll see what is involved .
If you want to do the simple preliminary work instead of the Dealer -
There are several useful threads on this subject by Ahsai. Search for "Y connector". Also strip back the cable insulation near the battery terminals to look for corrosion underneath. Bad grounds also ?
