Default Time to go low !

So I recently got round to fitting Coilovers to my 996 C2 and I couldn't be happier with the results !

About as soft as stock but much better body control !

Getting ready to install

Ride hight set

Now a good clean and off to a car meet !

Looks good. Rate the install difficulty on a scale of 1 to 10. I did a conversion from ABC hydraulic suspension to coilovers on an SL500 last winter. Right front was a piece of cake. Left front was a PITA. Ended up having a shop do the rear suspension due to a problem with the retractable top that prevented access to the rear.

One of the best mods for the car. Completely transforms it.

Thanks Guys,

Yes spacers are on the cards shortly, it has 9mm on the rear currently so will match the fronts I think or step up to a 15mm on the rear and move the 9mm to the front.

Its setup to 1.5 Degrees front and 2 Degrees Rear camber currently and feels great on the road!

So Install took 4 hours end to end including setup of heights and applying anti seize.

Rears are really easy, disconnect the drop-link, single bottom bolt and top mount to remove.

Fronts are easy too, disconnect the drop link, front track arm and top mount.

My front drop-links were almost rusted on so I we took the hubs off to get them off but again a 10 minute job.

Fitting them back in is easy just watch the hard lines don't bend on the front, if in doubt remove the caliper and tie it up out the way

Just shout if you want pics etc and I can write a guide.

Cheers!

Looks great although going too low will introduce some serious bump steer. The 996 suspension geometry is pretty fickle once you get to a certain ride height 30-35mm below stock.

I was wondering the same thing. There is one obvious thing on the exterior that make me think it's not the genuine article. Maybe the OP will confess and put our minds at rest.

Nice mods though.

Looks like he lives in Europe somewhere, probably U.K based on the link. They got the MK1 996 GT3 (taco) we only got the MK2 996 but had the MK1 GT3 look kit (aero).

What makes you guys not believe this is a true GT3 or not? Just curious, without the engine lid open its hard to tell if it is a true or not. .. maybe mirrors?

With that all said, I am curious to hear what OP says. The paint looks amazing, like it needs to be driven more

Curious what the distances are from ground to front and rear fender lips? Also spring rates?
