Ha! Definitely a radical design like the Porsche 996. Wonder if it can experience catastrophic failure?

Make sure to run them hard and often. Don't let them sit around without proper use or they will come apart.

I've heard they also suffer an IMS (Intermediate Shoelace)issue.

The InterMediate Sole (IMS) is a pain point in that model from my understanding. An IMS retrofit can streamline the mid-sole design to a more simple, plain arch design that is less prone to arch failure. Less parts, better durability.

Other things to note are the Air Oxygen Sensor (AOS) that can go bad and cause fouling of the bed surface with foot odor. Also, the silver New Balance label can be hand sewn in deviated arctic silver thread for enhanced resale value. Only 3 are known to exist in the wild (one owner has a pegleg).

I'm hearing that Porsche is mulling over a Metzger designed GT3 version that suffers none of the maladies of the "standard" shoes. The only caveat being that they'll only be offered by invitation, and the msrp will be 3x the standard version and there will be no discounts! If you're luck enough to find a pair on the "previously owned" (but not necessarily worn) market, there will be a 40% "premium" tacked on for posterity.

So, would you say that a Rennlister wearing one of those shoes can run 40 under 7 seconds?

the best Nordschleife time on foot is right under 7 hours and was performed with a hybrid shoe.
