Coolant types
Hi all,
Please help clear up some confusion for me. I recently had a new water pump and low temp t-stat installed but the coolant system wasn't vacuum filled. So I've burped the system a few times and have added just a bit of distilled water. But now I need to add a little more and I think it would be best to add coolant instead of just distilled water.
I understand the Porsche coolant's part number is 000-043-301-49 and it's "German Pink" type. Is this the same as Pentofrost SF or the VW/Audi G12 coolant?
Just trying to understand my options.
Thanks!

Did you install those parts yourself? Just wondering why the coolant wasn't vacuum filled since it's really easy to do and only requires one special tool. Either way, stick with Porsche OEM coolant. When it comes to the coolant it's my understanding Porsche OEM is not the same as VW/Audi G12. If you search long and hard enough on this forum you will find someone give a technical reason why it's a good idea to stick with Porsche. (even though it's crazy expensive). Or you could just save yourself time and stick with Porsche.
