Rough start-up

Rough start-up
Couldn't find a similar thread highlighting my situation, so I'll make a new one.
When I start my '04 996 C2 for the first time of the day or after it's sat for several hours (like getting off my shift at work), it'll start up really rough for a few seconds. It's not in the way that it normally sounds, where it sounds slow cranking then roars to life. This sounds like those old-school muscle cars with those ridiculous cams on them. It only lasts a few seconds, then it idles fine.
The other issue that may or may not related is when it does this, the throttle response is delayed about 1/4 to 1/2 second when I set it in gear. After I drive about 200-300 meters, it's fine and the throttle is back to normal.
To give some context that might help, I'm an expat living in Kuwait, and I do seem to recall the issue starting when it was getting hotter, though that may not be a factor.

Did you try the e-gas calibration yet?

I have not, but I saw something about it in an earlier thread. I'll certainly give it a go.
Edit: I just saw the earlier thread about starving fuel and the last response sounds exactly like what's happened to me. I've had it die when I rev soon after start-up.

It's an easy thing to eliminate and has solved many problems.
