Default Convertible top leading edge bracket fix

An FYI to all the convertible owners out there. I finally figured out where a significant source of top noises in my '99 cab come from - the metal bracket that runs the width of the top at the bottom of the front lip of the top (#2 in the pic). It turns out that the threads in the top that capture the screws that hold the bracket to the top frame are stripped. The bracket is able to move and, especially over bumps, make some awful noise.

Anyway, I purchased some M4 nutserts and am going to attempt to put them in the top. Wish me luck, I'm nut sure that there is room on the topside of the top frame to hold the nutserts but hopefully there is.

Anyone happen to have experience with this issue?
