Default Oil check....

No metal shavings in the oil

And underbelly shot...

And underneath the back...

Stay tuned for some IMSB shots after the engine is dropped.

When we were doing this.... We were happy not to find metal shavings, but we did find tiny little chunks of green rubber deep in the oil filter folds..

Then, because of the occasional rattle I'm looking around on ebay and I happen to see these green OEM rubber gaskets that come with the chain tensioner repair kit:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-996-...pXMD3I&vxp=mtr

That's the same color that came out of the oil and I'm starting to think we found the root of my rattle sounds... Adding this to the fix-list.

Jaetee: From one Florida black cab owner to another - Welcome!

I'm in Pensacola, I'm guessing you're somewhere in the center of the state?

Whaddup, Down South!!! Yup, I'm a bit further down south (pun intended) in Tarpon Springs near Tampa.

I actually used to live in Pensacola after graduating from FSU. That was from 1994-1995. Loved it there, but the job I had messed with my pay more than I appreciated and I left. Sometimes I wish I would have stayed. It was great having such close proximity to Mobile AL, Biloxi and New Orleans.

A friend of mine from my early USAF days lives up in that area. He owns a 930 Turbo and a Lotus Espirit.

Do you ever make it down to the Tampa area?

Not very often, but my wife and I are coming in a couple of weeks for a quick trip. I think we're staying near the Ybor City area.

That's about 45 minutes away. I live in Tarpon Springs. Tampa Bay is a fun area, and Ybor is known for it's night life. You should have a good time there! Just be mindful and careful if you go out in Ybor as there are a lot of punks up to no good there as well. I prefer the channelside area when I go to that part of town. It's not as big or lively as Ybor, but it's generally a more mature crowd. It all depends really on what kind of night life you're into.

Yeah Buddy!! Watch out for the Bucs this year. I've got Doug Martin and a couple of Cardinals (D.Johnson & C.Palmer) on my dynasty fantasy team. I will be rooting for Arizona a lot this season too.

That's what I remember you mentioned but if you google vertex bearing, you can't find one that looks the one in your photo (bottom right). Is this a relatively new design?
