Default Front spoiler protection

Having the front bumper and hood resprayed and wondering about options to protect the underside of the front spoiler. Any stick on or bolt on aluminum or similar solutions anyone is aware of? Not looking for a GT3 look, just something unobtrusive to protect the new paint from curbs, etc.

I remember seeing a steel plate that was sold by performance products that bolted to the underside of the bumper. Don't no if it's still around. Check eBay. Some of these tuner company's sell generic carbon fiber spoilers.

I have a hazy recollection that it was called a "boomerang" due to the shape...

You'll want to make sure to let at least a month pass to let the paint cure. Especially on a bumper. Any stick on solution is also a risky proposition depending on how well the bumper was prepped and painted(ie: flex agent and adhesion promotor).

Taste and level of protection will vary but there is the OEM MK2 Cup splitter that seems to work well also on stock bumpers. Then there are those products like EZ lip stick on type.

Here's one member's car with EZ lip:

Thanks Alpine! The boomerang was what I was looking for. Couldn't find it digging around. Though it would be better black than polished.

I wonder about EZ Lip at speed.

Or maybe I just need to be more careful wih curbs...

For the price that they are selling the "boomerang", it might be worthwhile to trace out a cardboard template and see if local metal working college student can fab one up for you. The material itself should be under $30 plus whatever labor a typical college student would charge.

No sense in having a polished piece down there when it's just going to get scraped and no one is going to see it IMO.
