I drive my car all year around, high ways, rain no snow (because Florida). I do not track it or autocross it. Bought it "brand new" 2 years ago with 3900 miles, original tires, undercarriage was impecable along with the paint, is my weekend drive but I drive it all year around and I drive a lot, now I have 13400 miles I put 9500 in the past 2 years, which is double of what most of the so called "daily drivers" put on them in a year.
I feel like the previous owner save this car for me, my plans are to enjoy it as much as I can.

From a recent drive where I passed by snow in the tree tops:

I purchased my car to drive at every opportunity. "I should have preserved that Porsche more." Is not a concept I understand.

I don't drive my C4S near enough. Mainly because I live less than five miles form my place of employment and usually make my stops on the way home from there. Sigh. I usually average around 1000 miles a year on my play car in a good year.

I grew up in pickup trucks so for me I feel safer in the winter time driving a truck or suv. I have a 2015 suburban and 2016 F150 which I use from late November to April. Once the salt is off the roads the 911 comes out. Unless doing big errands I use my car 3-5 times per week. Summer average is 8,000 - 10,000 km.

PorscheMikeandNancy....noticed you came from NH which is where I live. I drive it throughout the year unless there is heavy snow; say 4" + for this car! I purchased it in 2013 from the original owner when it had 18,000 miles. There was a moment where I thought I would only use it sparingly and only in good weather but that thought didn't last long. I enjoy it too much to let it sit and my two kids can fight over it after I am gone when it has (hopefully) a gazzilion miles on it (it now has 55,500 miles). This year I am "forced" to drive it daily since my other car has a cracked cylinder and is only used a few times a month until it is fixed.

Barn996 (Steve??)....maybe I will see you this winter as this is the year I plan on taking up skiing. I'll probably only see you in the parking lot since you'll be on the expert section and I'll be on the starter slopes!

I bought this car because it makes me smile and it does that nearly every day. Here In the ATL, I do use my '03 4Runner on truly nasty storm days but I have still managed to enjoy putting just over 17,000 miles in 20 months of ownership and do not intend to reduce the smile factor anytime soon.

I drive it whenever I want, in rain/sleet/snow--a sports car is useless if it just sits in the garage, and the sooner I wear this one out, the sooner I can justify a new one.

And if anyone with a garage queen wants in on a little secret, the car shines up like new whenever I hose her off, and there isn't a big difference in value between a 'mint' condition 996 and an 'average' condition 996. They made a ton of these, so go get your money's worth out of it.

My last p-car came from CT and had quite a bit of rust underneath. So I will avoid snow and salt with this one. Everything else is fair game.
