Default Porsche Becker CR-220 Code

Hi my father misplaced his code card for his 00 C4's radio. We have the number written down some where, but I was wondering does any one know how many digits are in the code so I can dumb down my search threw all the papers.

4 digits.
Your dealer should be able to help, but not over the phone.

it should be in that little radio pamphet with your owner manuals, but the dealer can give it to you off the vin also assuming it is the stock radio that came with the car of course.

I have the same issue with my new (used) 996 only one problem.....its not the original Becker. I got the code from the dealer and it didnt work. I am going to verify the code again and if it doesnt work then get another radio. I think that there is a way to give Becker the Serial # and they can get you the code. I found a company in Australia that will get it for you after faxing some paperwork and signing some documents ($40 Aus.) If anyone has any other ideas?

Ok here is what I did. The guys at SW Audio were great but couldnt help me without having the stereo removed to tget the SN off the side of the unit. So I went to the dealer and he pushed a button on the face (TP i think) for about 10 seconds. The model, date build and SN came up on the face plate. He then went inside and called an automated phone # input the SN and an automated voice gave him the code of the stereo. Total time 5 minutes and I was back in business. Quick, easy and painless.

I've got the same problem! Except my dealer gave me the wrong code card! Will the TP button work on the CR-220?

Yes I have a CR-220 in my 1999 996. Hold the button for ten to 15 seconds and you will see the display change. Rotate one of the ***** to get the info. Like I said, it took the dealer a couple of seconds to get the SN this way without removing the unit.
