Not yellowed out on the plastic lens in front. I will take pictures when I get the car.

Yes and your not going to believe what I bought off there today. Ok, you probably will. Need to finish the transaction tomorrow before I share details but I'll give you two hints. It wasn't from the "parts" section and I get to stay in this forum.

If it wasn't from the parts section and you get to stay in this forum, was it from the car classified's section? Another 996 for backup?

Oh well, its paid for and has (mostly) working lights, just one slightly pathetic front fog light, I'll clean the connections when the car arrives home.
Peter SA9 the colour code is L22E Forest Green, so not quite twins, but I do have a rear wash wipe just like yours.

In case you didn't catch my post in the other thread. It was a done deal, and then it wasn't. It would have been a blast though.

Its hooooooooooooooooommmmmmeeeeeeeee
Car arrived last night, has temporary plates and just been for emission testing (more on that later). Here are a few questions:
1) Electrics seem to be intermittent? Wipers and front headlights sometimes they come on other times not. They work again if you switch ignition on and off. Is this normal?
2) Starter, this is really lazy, couple of turns and it starts up,is this normal or is more money needed? Maybe permanently engaged?
3) I think it needs engine mounts!!
4) Needs headlights for safety. Argghhhh.
Anyhow I took car to a local Mr Lube for Emission testing and it was great to make their night, but they did look for the engine in the front.

Sounds like you need a new ignition switch to address the electrical issue. Documented ad nauseam here and elsewhere. CHeap fix.
The paint looks to be in much better shape than the first picture indicated. Nice!
The starter is another common weak point. If you find that it is harder to start when hot, that's a second indication that your starter needs replacing. You can find them for about a hundred bucks on Amazon if you aren't keen to spend $800 at the Porsche parts counter. I find that my car is turning over about twice as fast with the new starter - I hadn't realized just how poorly the original was functioning.
The DRL issue sucks - you must purchase new lights to be legal in Canada because your original lights were ruined by a mandatory safety feature for Canadian cars. That seems f----d.
One hint if you plan to do your own work - buy a larger oil drain pan. I never needed a pan that could hold approx. 9 quarts before I bought my first Porsche...

The battery won't be the cause of the accessories working or not after fussing with the ignition. I'm willing to put up an entire dollar (US!) that it's the ignition switch.

Yes sucks regarding the DRL but I knew that one going in to the purchase.
Its starting fine just verrrryyyyyyy sllllooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww (etc). Alternator is showing 14V on cluster. So ignition switch..... engine mounts......New vent......new (to me) lights.......... Ahhh yess and there is a relay that keeps buzzing wonder what thats supposed to work.

Nope in the Green Sierra Cosworth some posts back. Sorry I was reminded by the large oil capacity that it happened while I was there.
