I am sure that this has been gone through a million times , and if someone could link me to something on the topic I would be very grateful ( yes I did search but didn't find exactly what I was looking for ) So anyway, I have a 99 996 C2 with the standard headlights and I would like to upgrade to the complete factory litronic headlights are these headlights completely plug and play or will I need to ad anything else and mod the wiring or ? Thanks for your help...............

Complete plug and play. I've done it before. You just lose the self leveling function.

The factory Litronic headlights have an auto-leveling system, which is required to comply with federal law in the US. I'm not sure about Canada. This system has level sensors on the front and rear of the car's suspension.

It would be less expensive to go with an aftermarket kit, but it wouldn't be a "true" Litronic system and you wouldn't have auto-leveling. If you choose this route, then you have to decide what color temperature you prefer for the HID bulbs. The factory bulbs are 4,300K, which is optimal for viability. Many people prefer whiter/bluer lights in the 5,000K - 6,000K range or more. They look very good, but you do give up some visibility compared to 4,300K bulbs.
