Default Porsche 996 4s and 996 tt owner - michelin will not make front tire anymore

I'm looking for new tire for my 996 4s, and the guy at the tire shop say Michelin discontinued the 225 40 zr 18 PS2 N3 but have 295 30 zr 18 in N4 homologation.

I contact Michelin for the availability of a N4 version and they told me :

We appreciate your request for 225/40ZR18 Pilot Sport PS2 N4. Unfortunately, we do not manufacture this tire in the size specified. Your request will be forwarded to the appropriate Marketing Group for future consideration.

For me it is a real tragedy because Michelin are the best tire available today for my 996 and we love the turbo wheel on my car

Fortunately for this time I found a set of PS2 for the front, but next time will be another thing

Any comment ?

I had the samelroblem as you. Ended up finding a set of ps2s for my car. But the next set is where I'm concerned about. I say screw it, and enjoy the tires while you have them and worry about it when you have to worry about it.

The good news is, 295 are not discontinued and we bought 2 set of 295 for one set of 225.

Have you tried the Pilot Super Sports? They are similar to the PS2 only better in every way IMO. And others:

The bug I seem to recall with the Super Sport is that they don't make them in a 285/30-18 for the rear (or 295/30)

I confirm pilot super sport is a wonderful tire, we put these on my previous boxster S. Wow most significant upgrade. Unfortunately they don't make it for the 996 4s/tt
