That is a very "relative" question.

"If you’ve got a dollar and you spend twenty-nine cents on a loaf of bread, you’ve got seventy-one cents left. But if you’ve got seventeen grand and you spend twenty-nine cents on a loaf of bread, you’ve still got seventeen grand. There’s a math lesson for you."

YES, for those manual die-hards that wanna row their own boat and have one of the best current NA engines made. This is a no brainer for investment peeps too, even at $25k over retail considering this combo may never be offered in the future. I can see a good ROI on this one. HOWEVER, Porsche did announce that they will once again be offering manual options for their future GT3 models making the amount of ROI not as great as before.

Nah. Relatives just want your money so they are always against you spending it.

+1. The new manual gt3 announcement has already depressed the prices of 997 and 996 gt3. I imagine it will be a long time before you recoup your over list cost.

Limited run my ****, they will churn these out as long as there is a demand. They will just add a new letter an "s", change the color and call it another limited run.

And for the record, if I spend 200k on a car, it's going to have a PDK in it. I love my MT in my 996 but it's justifiable because they are quicker than the tips. I would find it hard to pay big money for an MT transmission that is going to actually make my car slower.

The RS was selling 150k over list at many dealers. This is a very limited run car. If the past is a good indicator of the future, a 911R for 200k is a reasonable investment. But who knows...

I think it is a great price and if I could I would jump on it. Current status, as I hear, is that the number will be limited to 991, Only offered to purchasers of 918s in the first go around. I think it is worth the shot. Those who purchased the 918s are now brilliant even though it took several years to unload them.

As long as it's not a 996 it's a good investment Really though, limited edition...if you can actually get one and afford to drive it a little bit (just enough to keep it/you happy) and garage it the rest of the time, I don't think you'll lose anything on it. If you can keep it 5 -10 years in great shape, you'll make $$ (even paying the $20k premium).
