Default 2004 OEM Radio Functionality

Looking at taking delivery of and then a very long drive in a 2004 turbo. It has OEM GPS and the Bose system.

Does anyone know if this radio has auxiliary inputs? Or if the CD player / changer decodes and plays mp3's.

given the year, i am assuming it will not pair with my phone via BT.

Last resort would be to buy a radio transmitter, plug it into my phone, and tune the FM dial to the frequency.

thank you for your consideration.

the answer is NO, it does not. i picked up an FM transmitter. its like bluetooth, -12 years + wires.

I just had a flashback of CD changers, books, and visor sleeves. please no.

Which FM transmitter are you using? Looking to get one for my 04. Just got a quote to upgrade radio w/ amp - $1100. A little pricy for me as most of the time I enjoy the sound of the Fister hack on the exhaust.

i picked up a belkin from walmart because i was desperate. i dont know that i would recommend this one, it plugs into the lighter port and had trouble powering both the phone and the transmitter.

I am going to look into something that plugs directly into the audio jack. maybe something like this.
Amazon.com: Eastvita® 3.5mm Jack Stereo Radio Car Fm Transmitter for Smart Phone Mp3 Tablet (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories Amazon.com: Eastvita® 3.5mm Jack Stereo Radio Car Fm Transmitter for Smart Phone Mp3 Tablet (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories

though havent done any research yet.

I have read that if it had the oem gps unit then you can use the latest dension Bluetooth unit it's pricey around 500+ but it's Bluetooth via most. If you need more info let me know I have no affiliation but I was inquiring but as I have the CDR 23 it won't work

I have a CDR23 and recently added an iSimple Tranzit BLU HF to my system. Unlike the other fm modulators, this unit actually attaches to the antenna of your radio. It provides awesome Bluetooth access to music on your phone and also does a great job with phone calls. I had a radio tech install it and highly recommend it. The music is static free and my phone call quality is very good as well.

this looks like a good option.. my 2 minutes of google f00 shows these at under 100$. i dont really need the OEM head unit at all, just a good interface with the speakers from my phone.

I got one on eBay for about $80. I've tried the Fm modulators and have always been unhappy with the sound. The sound quality for music with this is very good. Its is the best thing that I've found yet. It comes with a dedicated microphone and I'm told that the call quality is very good. My CDR23 is a little flakey, but thats a whole other can of worms.

+1 on the iSimple Tranzit BLU HD. PO of my C4S had installed. Seems to work fairly well and easy to use. Download the app to your phone, pair to car and voila, you're off and running.

Yes, the Tranzit Blu is the way to go. I have my mic and control button mounted in the 2 blanks under the PSM button. My car is in the shop as I type this to have my stereo upgraded. I've had bad luck trying to get my CDR23 fixed. Going with a new deck and amp.

I was very happy with the Tranzit Blu. I would highly recommend it!

While I can't help you with getting the radio out on my C4S the pairing button is located at the bottom of the horseshoe panel and the microphone is at the bottom of the drivers A-pillar. Very unobtrusive.
