Question Auto Door Locks

Once my 996 gets to about 5 mph the doors lock automatically. Is there an easy way to disable this feature, without paying a Porsche dealership?

No. You need an electronic doohickey to reprogram. It's easy to do, but I think only the dealers have the equipment.

The dealer should not be charging you for something as simple as reprograming a basic feature. Mine never has.

Yes there is...follow the instruction on how to remove the auto shut off for the exhuast and that will also disable the auto door locking at 5 mph.

You basically have to remove the 4 pin jumer on jumper base 23 in the fuse box.

Takes about 15-20 minutes.

They can also set it to different MPH. Mine locks at 3mph.

Is this the same system as they use with the Sports muffler that goes silent between 50-70 Km/h ?

Where can I read more about those jumper settings ?
