Default Coolant Leak

Morning guys from sunny Phoenix.

Well I got stranded for the first time with my car since I bought it 4 years ago.

I was driving down the highway and we slowed down for some construction when the person next to me told me the car was smoking out of the back.
I pulled over to find that coolant fluid was leaking and it was making the car send steam (no smoke thankfully...my first thought was for the worst).

Anyway had it flat-bedded back to the place I'm staying. My first thought was the water pump went, but the tow truck guy asked me to drive the car up instead of trying to pull it up so I did.
I didn't hear the usually squealing/clatter noise.

So this morning I thought I would take a look, removed the air cleaner and found this small hose.

It looks like the plastic connector broke off inside of the hose.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Zenski

Yep, you need to connect it back where I've drawn the arrow. You'll need a new plastic fitting from Porsche.

A lot of ppl ave replaced that with a proper sized brass fitting or you can get it the broken fitting/bracket from the dealer for like $10. You will need to replace the lower Oteiker clamp (on the lower broken piece). I recommend also replacing the upper spring style with a Norma worm style clamp.

Yep that plastic part ages and becomes brittle - a good preventative maintenace item when doing the water pump. Mine broke when removing the alternator - hard to get all the plastic pieces out of the tube - you can try using a pick tool , but I cut a little bit off the end of the tube - less than 1 " .. There is plenty of extra hose there to work with ...
