Update: I am a lousy DIYer. Bruised a rib playing with Pee Pee Eye on Saturday (thought it was busted, was delighted when it wasn't); was too much of a pansy to push through the pain and work on the car Sunday afternoon. Instead, I pushed through the cooler full of microbrew at my brother's house, then drank his wine and finally killed off a bottle of champagne. At this point I was in NO pain, but still in sufficient control of my faculties to know that working under the car while bombed was probably not the best way to round out a weekend.

The car still thumps, but I cared a lot less about it.

Well, it was a heavy thunk, so it might have been a sparking wine - those bottles are a little more robust so they don't explode.

I suppose it might also be described as the sound a magnum bottle would make. If it was a bottle this size, I'm assuming the wine itself would have been something light - a riesling, perhaps, or maybe a Gewürztraminer.
