Bought mine from Walmart and submitted online. I'll post confirmation when/if I receive the rebate.

If the wally world rebate works - maybe I should go get some for my Yugo and meet all the other owners in the parking lot while I'm there ....

I also bought mine from Walmart and submitted online. I just received my checks today. A total of two $12 checks.

I submitted mine online and only when I was all done did it indicate that there was a limit of two per household. I read through the Terms & Conditions, and there is nothing there about a limit. In any case, I got a very good deal at Walmart.com with free shipping.

No need to go there in person. Just order online, spend over $50 and you get free shipping!

If any more questions should arise regarding the best weight...this chart should be useful.

To me it depends on weather, if its cold I go with M1 0W-40 and if its hot I use 5W-40

I want a coffee also. Haha. I just purchased a 2002 C4S. I have owned a 98 M3 and ran the redline oil etc. Since most of us agree that 5000 or less OCI is a good idea with 996, I was wondering why one wouldn't just get the mobil 1 0w-40 for less than $5 a qtr and change oil at 3k? You can get Motul, redline or DT40 for more like $10-1$12 a quart but it gets pretty crazy to spend $120 per oil change to change oil every 3K. I drive 20k miles a year, so I guess it matters more to me than the guy who does 4K per year. Any thoughts?

Dt40 was specifically developed for this engine to try and overcome some of its deficiencies and extends its life. If you don't go that route then $5 WalMart oil is probably as good as any.

Thanks Slakker, at the end of the day most of us are pretty ****, so I may eventually switch to DT40 and still do some shorter oil changes.

Mobil 1 0-40 every 5k is fine unless you are tracking the car. I have watched many a motor on the forum over the years grenade some kind of way no matter which oil is being used. dont drink the kool-aid.

I'm incredibly happy that I made the switch. My chain noise at startup is nearly nonexistent now except on very cold days, and even then it's now only for a second or two.
