Default CDR-23 CD Changer

What kind of mechanism/tool do I need to make the car think that is has a CD changer or code it so? I installed a Dension Bluetooth 500 S in my car but cannot get it to communicate with the head unit because my car does not have a CD changer and apparently it somehow uses that channel to function. I need to code something to make it think that it has a CD changer and it will work but have no idea how to do this. I have heard that something called a VAG unit will do it but wasn't sure. Any tips?

From what I have read the dealer is able to "enable" that function for you. I think the Dension works on the same channel as the changer making the system think there is an additional fibre optic component in the loop.

Dan is correct. Since your car did not have a factory changer it needs to be "turned on" at a shop. Probably a dealer given the age of the car.

Thanks guys, here is where I stand. That is what I was told to do by the guys who installed the unit but did not have the equipment to "turn on" the CD changer (they called this tool a VAG reader or something like that. So I took the car to a Porsche Indy where they said they could do this. They took the car back used a piece of Porsche equipment and claimed that they turned on the CD changer but that the Dension unit was not responding to it. They told me I had a bad dension unit, and that I should just buy one of their head units and amplifiers for $1100. I told him to leave the car coded for the CD changer and I took it back to Best Buy where I had it installed by my buddy. He tried to get it to work but he couldn't. He would Press the CD button multiple times and absolutely nothing would happen, the head unit would just continue to say CD. He seems to think that if the unit has been coded and the Dension unit was in fact dad that the head unit would at least spit out an error code because it does not actually have a CD changer even though it has been coded for one. The head unit as I said didn't do that and just said CD. Any thoughts? I'm wondering if I got duped on the coding.....
