sneaky carpet stalls car
Alright,
this is so wacky that I had to post. I had sent a note out a while back wondering if anyone else had intermittent starting problems. Everything seems fine except the car would not start off and on.
bottom line: the carpet got lose and gradually slipped under the clutch pedal not allowing full clutch travel. As a result, depressing the clutch at startup did not deactivate the safe start switch.....
would have never figured it out except the rep at Rector Porsche clued me in....obviously a common problem with manual transmissions after a while. Only takes a minor movement of the carpet.
-relieved-

..blue,
My driver side carpet used to move around a bit, and it really ticked me off, tho never prevented me from starting her up. If you turn the floor mat over does it have 2 circles that look like the soft side of velcro?
If so, there are these black plastic pieces that screw into the floor boards that have the other side of the velcro, so your mat won't shift. Turns out I had 2 on the passenger side and none on the driver side, so I unscrewed one from the passengers side and now they both stay put...
