I had a muffler shop do the fister mod instead.... I think the bypass would get old driving it 4-5 days a week... If it was like my other sport cars that got driven 3-4 times a Month then maybe.... Let me know what you think after continually driving it!

I'll say this I used the car this weekend with the bypass pipes on and I'm ok with the noise. Its kinda fun how loud it is. Now if I had to use this car everyday that would be a different story all together.

I only used mine on the weekends too and the bypass got old after a month or so. For the first couple of weeks I loved it but then it slowly got to be too much. I love loud engines, my 928 has a supercharger and no catalytics or a muffler but the 996 was way louder I got my bypass (looks just like yours) usee because the previous owner got sick of it. I think I'll be selling mine as soon as someone want to buy it. Keep your mufflers, you'll be going back to them sooner than you think.
At idle and low RPMs it sounds like crap but it start to sing near redline.

I think I am going Agency Power Mufflers or Afterhours.....
Louder than the fister mod, but not as obnoxious at bypass... I have ruled fabspeed out for me.
AP & Afterhours can both be had for around $900

I was looking at my exhaust system with my indy and all looks well. He said nothing needs replaced but if i wanted to do something he recommended doing the Fabspeed Sport Cat X-Pipe. I was asking specifically about Fabspeed and he is a dealer of Fabspeed. So as far as Fabspeed goes it sounds like that is the way to go and it is not too loud for a daily driver. Do you really gain hp by upgrading the parts of your exhaust? It also costs $2200, ouch.

I'm interested in the answer to Cheekybird's question too.
I just keep hearing that there is no real upgrade, including the 200 cat x-pipes, that will make any appreciable power benefit to the 996. And at the prices any mods cost for these cars, the difference should be appreciable!
