Just noticed the price you paid for the car. Uh, you need to send your neighbor a gift card for a nice dinner out on the town. Technically, you're supposed to buy that dinner before you ***** 'em.

Wow, shows that a little research and knowledge can be very powerful. I'll bet he just felt like the car was too much to deal with, given the high service cost he just paid, the high quote he was given for the transmission mount and the two engine replacements that Porsche did. He was probably happy to just get rid of it. Your gain.

Less than 6k for a 911 that is apparently in mostly good shape. That's just crazy.
I know, I lucked out on this one. Heck, I paid $6K to do the clutch, RMS/IMS and timing chain pads on my other 996!

Here is my only "before" photo. I was so anxious to get the bird poops off I was washing it 5 minutes after I got it home.

I think he was happy to be rid of it. He said the dealer wouldn't even make him a trade-in offer, he didn't want the hassle of selling it, and he was considering donating it to a charity. I think I came along at the right time. One man's hassle is another man's hobby.

He who dares - Wins!

Nice - well done.
Looks great.
I would think there is stuff you can get to get the wheels clean.

That IS amazing....5,5K ?!?!.... Since you already have a perfectly good one, this can just be a hobby, or you flip it after fixing the immediate problems.

Great find, depending on how bad the other wheels are If they are fine, I would just sand that wheel down and re-spray the entire thing with some wurths paint and clear. The interior looks great, get the center console repainted and you will be set.

I only wish you could find a turbo for that price. Dock would have a stroke.
