Yes it is a factory aero kit. I used a 996.2 GT3 cup splitter, the contours do not match perfectly on the ends but it fits well enough for a race car and they are not that expensive.
As I have not driven the car yet, it is a fresh build. I do not know how it will balance out with the Aero tail base as opposed to a proper wing. As per class rules I will have to remove the upper blade on the tail base during a race, this will most likely necessitate removal of the front splitter to get the rear to settle at higher speeds. My 86 911 hates a splitter on the front.

I'm not as impressed by that as I am how fast you must have taken turn 10 (or is it 9?), leading onto the front straight. You don't hit 145 in a 996 unless you take that last turn like a boss. I hit 130-135 in my gutted, track prepped 986 S, and that requires about 100 mph through that last turn. I guess I could go a bit faster but don't have as much seat time at RR as compared to my main track, Sebring Raceway.

BTW, I did equal your 145 in the Boxster S, but needed the banking of Daytona to do it. The massive rear wing slows me down in straight line speed. :-)

Topped out 5th on a country road with no side roads entering, 155 indicated, but I believe my speedo reads 5mph fast.
Same road on my bikes I had seen 185.

ETA: Car was perfectly stable.

You couldn't have been going that fast to catch yourself on fire.

These kind of threads are always interesting. They show who pushes their car to the limits responsibly and (relatively) safely on the track, and who takes a different approach.

137 on the 91 here in L.A. early morning, extra light traffic. It was more of an oops as I was enjoying the sound of the engine and just kept shifting gears. 99' C2 (bone stock).

I think it's more interesting to see how may respondents exercise their car responsibly, i.e. on the track, and who does so irresponsibly on public roads:

Track: 7

Public Road: 25

Not stated or N/A: 20

Not trying to turn this into a pissing match, but you are trying to tell me you have followed every single speed limit sign, speed recommended and road regulation since you have gotten your drivers license?

I think he is referring to some of the specific speeds mentioned on public roads in this thread rather than speeding in general. 5 over in a 55 is a world of difference than 100+ over in what is likely a 45 zone at best.
