Oh wait. You mean you don't want to do 100+ mph wheelies down 495 while weaving in and out of traffic like the boys in PG county do?

The problem here in the US is that you actually feel like going fast is really special. I'm in Germany several times a year, and I'm routinely going 100+mph on the autobahn in rental cars not half as fast as a 911. The roads of course are much better, but once you get used to it, 100 mph is really no big deal.

225 km/h on the back straight at the track. That's 140 mph for you all.

140 by the speedo at Auto Club Speedway. Nothing evil at all at that speed.... Completely confident.

My highest was in a Benz limo last year from Frankfurt to Darmstadt on the Autobahn. Most straight section of the road, got up to 250kph which was a ball, sadly not in my own P car.

I used to max out all of my cars 'just to see'... now as I've gotten older and my cars have gotten faster, I don't really even care anymore. Too much at stake I guess. So for me 110 is about the fastest in the 996. Did 172 on a CBR1000, 161 on a ZX6, 162 in a 944 turbo (passenger), 145 in S60R, 135 in FC RX7, and various other ricerburners in the low 100's.

I hit 130 once on my drive back home the day I bought it. Since then, a few times quickly to 100-110. After the aero kit and RoW M030, very stable at higher speeds.

140mph on the banked front stretch at TPWS. No more than 100mph on the hwy, and then only for a bit to get around a truck train on I35.

5CHN3LL:" I can also report that the moment when the rear tires lose contact - and the tach briefly pops up to the rev limit - there is an impossibly short but seemingly eternal processing delay while your mind figures out what the hell just happened. That moment is about 99.98% terrifying and .02% exhilarating."
