where is it available?

I found one place in Canada that still had some and they wanted $50 for 1 can of superblue plus shipping

I mark my catch bottle with the volume for each caliper and bleed it that way

Ebay is one place, http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATE-Super-Bl...pWatGg&vxp=mtr

I have seen it at a couple raceshops up here in Northern Cali, it is getting harder and harder to find, for the price I do what you do and use a better fluid.

For $64, you could use Castrol SRF which would be major overkill unless you have a racecar

OK, so WHICH Motive Bleeder is the best one for use? European Red Label, European Black Label, Universal? ??? What's the diff between red and black label ones? As in, if one has a swivel at the cap, that's a benefit I can see.

Agreed on that,

back on topic, which power bleeder does everyone use?

Sounds a little like alcohol, I know there definitely is a difference between Red/Black Labels...when it comes to Johnnie Walker ;-)

Porsche's require the European, the main difference between black and red label is black comes with a machined aluminum cap vs. composite on the red label, it's very simple process with the Motive and a catch bottle. I flush my brakes before every event and use SRF which is probably overkill for your application. I previously used Motul rbf 600 or 660 which would be more than adequate and costs considerably less...

Black label, worth the few extra $

As far as brake fluid, ATE 200 is fine for street stock and half the $ of Motul 600 . 660 is overkill for street cars

to my knowledge, you cannot buy DOT4 or 5.1 in any color other than colorless to amber in the USA

DOT 5 is not compatible with any other brake fluid and to my knowledge not for our cars braking systems
You just posted exactly what I posted, and dot 5 is purple, and you are correct it is not comparable, to use it you would have to start with fresh everything. When I flush I run 5.1, it's completely mixable with dot 3 and dot 4

Thanks for all of the input. Will discuss the brake flush with my indy to determine if I can do it and still meet the DE tech inspection requirements.

My shop initials everything on the form they did/inspected so they will not initial the brake flush if you just did it. Our DE guys don't care if you note you did it. For their insurance they just want the formed filled out.
Two things: While EZ, a fellow rennlister did my first one with me and I couldn't have done it as well the second time without the hands-on demo. No substitute for youtube in my opinion.
Secondly, the most under-given reminder: after completion pump those brakes a few times before putting it in gear. It's so obvious but don't forget!

Looks like this vendor still sells it. Prolly for 'off road use only'.

Amazon.com: ATE 706202 Original TYP 200 DOT 4 Brake Fluid - 1 Liter: Automotive Amazon.com: ATE 706202 Original TYP 200 DOT 4 Brake Fluid - 1 Liter: Automotive

Hard to beat the price. You can also get the Motive bleeder kit and bottle all together for a decent price down at the bottom of the page.

Hmmm, can't edit the above. Anyway, doesn't say super blue but that's what I searched for on Amazon.

As an aside, the aviation fuel is dyed to prevent mis-fueling aircraft. This has killed people in the past. Not defending the stupidity of DOT or the fedguv, but wrong fluid has killed before.

I love it, think we can use that phrase for driving (pun meant) awareness? :-P

Ectually, I believe wrong brake fluid has also killed a driver, but I can't seem to recall the specifics. Maybe it was mix of syn and organic brake fluid, or syn in a system where organic was supposed to be, or something like that in a race car. fluid/seal failed, brakes failed, hi speed into something unforgiving and dead driver.

(note, that I've been accused of not having a great sense of humor recently, but dead people by someone else being stupid doesn't really budge my laughometer)
