Default Low oil pressure engine shutting down

So I got this today while sitting at a signal light today. Had my car towed to the dealer and was told fuel pump bad. Correct me if I am wrong but if your car shuts the engine down due to low oil pressure does it not kill the fuel pump to do so? And if it does do you not need to clear said code to even make the fuel pump work again??
Just curious before I shell out $1,200 for a new fuel pump....

Yes, also low oil pressure warning is often a failed oil pressure sensor. Or the fuel pump quit and as the engine "coasted" to a stop the low oil pressure warning came on.
I have the oil chime and light come on when I almost stall with inattentive clutch work.
There are many oil pressure sending unit failure threads, do a search, none have mentioned the engine shutting down??

I have never heard of an M96 shutting down due to low oil.

Well, that's not entirely true. I have heard of M96's suddenly vacating themselves of oil and shutting down - but I think you would have noticed that your engine grenaded and probably mentioned that in your post.

Is your car a C2 or a C4? If you're paying $1200 for a fuel pump replacement in a C4, you should hold out for dinner and some flowers first.
