Need help here I am installing the HID XENON lighting upgrade kit ( this is circa $500 and so had better be good ) and need to know which of the brown and yellow wires to the headlight dip bulb is positive and which negative ? why can't they use red and black..........

I was wondering the same thing, but assume yellow is (+) and brown is (-)!

I don't remember but I used a meter and either tested it by voltage to ground with head lights on or found out which wire was ground by resistance measurment. I had the same issue when I installed my circuit to trigger the garage door opener by flicking the brights.

Every solid brown wire I have seen was a ground.

Having had a welding equipment manufacturing plant in Gremany, I asked the same question, "Why can't you'all use Black for Ground?" They said the earth is Brown!
