Regarding the remote not working, I don't lock my car. There's nothing in my car of any value. If they want the radio and can get a code they can have it. I would rather keep my top from being slashed that's worth > $1000 with labor and let them go ahead and open the door and look for nickels and dimes.

 

I have two car seats in my car and I keep a garage door opener, and perhaps a bag or two. I never park in rough areas and it stays in a garage at night.

if you are really in a rough area parking with the door unlocked you open yourself up to getting your headlights stolen. (if they are the xenon ones. nobody wants my halogen ones! )

 

We thought about a Boxster but then thought more power and where was the dog going to sit.. 911.. extra £5k kerching.
