Is it me or does that look exactly like a 996 from the side and rear?

By most accounts the 997 is supposed to bring the bumper mounted turn signals and the "hips" of the 993 to the 996 (which has been criticized for being rather bland in the narrow body configuration) rather than being a complete redesign.

It is the 997 if you look at the front bumper you will kind of see the round headlights and the clear turn signals in the grill of the bumper.

They ruined the tail lights...too skinny. And the door handles look really out of place on the 996-like body. At least the rear is a bit wider.

How much do you think Porsche "allows" their partially-disguised models to be seen.....in order to get a feel for acceptance by Porschephiles?

I believe the front will look more like this, minus the camoflauge lower front bumper,

The side does look very similar, and appears not to be wearing too much camouflage. As for the rear & tailights, they seem to be partially covered/shaped by some camouflage, it may be too early to judge what it will look like.

The side and rear looks like a 996 widebody. Notice the wider rear end which is like a c4s. If those are the changes, it is very minor.
