Yes. Too good to be true. Porsche OEM is one of the highest quality exhaust systems on planet earth. There's a reason the real ones cost $700 each.

Rather than just saying its junk, here's a couple explanations. These headers are priced the way they are because these are most likely b-stock which are the rejects from a company that paid to have these made. It could be rejected for several reasons.

The ones I see the most have poor fitment, incorrect flange alignment, poor inside welds restricting airflow, too big of primaries(loss of low end), no true merge collector, not true equal length, etc.

If a "cheap" header did address these issues then it could be worth it to those looking to increase their sound and improve the top end by a few ponies. Headers have been known to have one of the least increases on the m96 compared to other mods. FWIW, I had aftermarket headers on mine.

"FWIW, I had aftermarket headers on mine."

"HAD" being the operative term?

Actually I had a lot of things on my car then took them off thinking I'd sell it. Now that I'm keeping her, I'm starting to put everything back on again. My headers aren't eBay though and actually make hp. However, I would recommend this as a last mod after you've done everything else. Definitely, the value is not really there for most unless you want to eek out the remaining couple ponies after having done everything else. Headers will also change the sound as well.

True merge collector:

look on ebay, thats the going price for headers. No they arent OEM porsche parts.
They are all made in china or orient and most are suprisingly good quality. Exhaust parts are just tubes for air to go thru, what kind of quality do you need?

LOL, "quality" doesn't just equate to shiny or the type of material they use... The header is junk if it loses hp or if you can't even get all the bolts on to hold it in place for example...

After you buy a $100 set of headers and see how much work needs to be done to hog out all of the slag, fix the raggeddy-*** welds, and torque down on the crappy bowed flanges enough to get a seal without stripping the holes and earning yourself a visit to heli-coil hell - if you can find one even worth trying to salvage - you will never again ask "what kind of quality do you need?" - I guarantee it (in my best Men's Warehouse voice).

The inside of a $100 header does not look like Alpy's photo. The inside of a $100 header looks like a cat's a**hole.
