Default Not another IMSB thread!

No really. Or at least not what you are expecting. Any "serious" discussion of the item should be mocked accordingly.

Finally swapped ours and found a pristine dual row bearing. LN may want it for their warranty coverage, but that's their problem. As much of a PITA as these damn things are, I'm keeping it so I can mock it every day!

So the question now is, what do I do to display it? I'm thinking about getting it gold plated, but the companies I've reached out to so far haven't responded

Beyond that, however, I haven't thought of how to actually display it. So, any thoughts and ideas from the cheap seats?

Yeah I'm a fiddler, so if what ever do allows it to still spin my work output is probably going to go to hell

No way will I mock Mike like that. He did what he should have and still lost his motor

I don't want to call that bad karma down on myself

I wonder if you can have glass poured over it into a whiskey glass. Then you can see that once in a while while sipping your Lagavolin or whatever you're into. Actually Lagavolin 16 is my favorite scotch.

Get a Sit N Spin and modify the bottom with the bearing you got. Instant fun for hours.

I used to love mine as a kid. One of the few toys I really remember.

I do have a 3 year old who would probably go for that, but I couldn't live with myself if it decided to go and cause a CS&SF

I'm eventually going to get a second pristine used dual-row bearing and use it as a filament spindle for my 3-d printer.

Found a local plater and dropped it off this morning for an estimate. Their minimum charge for gold plating is $325 and it falls under that. Not sure if I think it's worth that...
