99 clean ICV and MAF = cure to high start idle
When I previously use to start my 99, it would rev up to about 1,800 RPM. Also, had a slightly erratic idle.
Cleaned the ICV. Blasted MAF cleaner in it. A bunch of carbon came out. I mean, a bunch. Wiped down MAF while at it even though it was pretty clean.
Note, you do need a new gasket when removing the ICV. As there is no sealant, you could probably re use the old one, but it was quite fragile on mine.
Since then, nice smooth idle and no jump up in revs.
Just wanted to share my experience. And if you have a 99, recco doing this simple maintenance item.
