Anyone mix SO2's & SO3's?
Need new rear tires. Have SO2's now. Was thinking of getting SO3's in the rear. How would the mix work until the fronts wear out and can be replaced with SO3's?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I think the generaly accepted rule is that all four tires should be the same. Given that the fronts will usually last twice as long as the rears, I would replace the rears with the S02's just to keep the same tires. The next time the rears wear out the fronts will be good for replacement at the same time. My $.02

Mixing tires is never a good thing. Especially, two tires of completely different characters. I agree with Kerry, stick with the S-02 or go for the S-02A all-around. The S-03 is not as good in regards to dry performance.

I've got about 1500 miles with S02s in front and S03s in the rear and have had no handling problems, however, I've not tracked my car during this time frame. I was forced into the mis-match, as one of my rear S02s blew
in Pascagoula, Mississippi. I coudn't get S02s for the rear so I just got S03s. I will say that the S03s are MUCH MUCH better in the wet than the S02s. I'm going to put S03s on the front in a couple of weeks, however, it is not due to any handling concerns. It is just that I agree with the basic philosophy of using the same tire all around.
