I ordered the wrong one for some reason. I musta clicked lower when I needed upper. I can't call to return until Monday. I thought the same thing, why the heck does this car need two CD changers, LOL took me about a week.

 

+1 on Suncoast - absolute plug and play - came super quickly

 

Literally a 10-second swap. The last five seconds were just marveling at how easy it was.

 

I will say that my experience on getting it out was different than the folks above

i ejected various of the trays and yanked hard (almost hard enough to break the trays) and nothing

instead, i popped the trim off on either side (simple - pull straight out from the mounting surface - front hooks on and so go forward from there)

once those trim pieces were off i had to push the unit down (or up i can't remember) in the front and then pull - it came it - if you look closely (i have pics if anyone wants) inside there are retainer clips

they are not locked in but are pressure only

other than that, i agree...unit pops out, new one pops in - very simple and a great upgrade (in my opinion)

 

Mine came out literally in 2 seconds. Then I tried putting new one in then realized I ordered wrong part. Stupid me. Now I wait for the correct part.

 

Heh. Lucky. My Boxster came with a 6-cassette changer like Carsly's Turbo.
