Default 1999 996 rough idle and codes....

Just had the leather replaced on drivers seat. He took the seat only and when he reinstalled, the airbag light went on. He reset the light. Two days later car is riding very rough, CEL on (sometimes blinking).
Codes P1121 and P0301 came up.

Any suggestions? Related or not?

Thanks

Misfire on cylinder 1 = rough idle.

To check, in the order I'd check them:
Plugs, coil packs, injectors

Airbag light is coincidental IMO.

Blinking MIL means danger to the emissions equipment. If your misfire is caused by a lack of spark, dumping unburned fuel into the exhaust can do bad things to the cat for that bank.

Not sure if the MK1's are effected by the TSB for an improper seatbelt ground. If the light comes back on again have it checked out,to likely nothing to worry about. From what I've read the airbags will still deploy.

The airbag-related code was thrown because the seat was removed while the battery was connected. It should not repeat and I can't imagine it's related to the misfire.

Yes, they were. Common issue.
