Why would the option code for wheels be on the sticker but the wheels never on the car?

Assuming your car's a Targa, right?

You're correct that you have a limited-slip diff.

Active brake differential uses the ABS system to help ensure power delivery in slippery conditions.

Often times codes overwrite each other and the accuracy is based on descending order.

Sorry should have clarified.. I have '99 c2 coupe, not a targa. I didnt even think they had a targa for that year. I'd love to know what that means.

As for the wheels, I can't verify it but from what I'm told the 17" are the ones that came with the car.

PORCAR - Thanks, I'll email them with that.

I'm curious about the wheels. Was the PO the original owner? I can see 17" wheels for snows in your neck of the woods and am (assuming PO didn't buy new) that they were switched out along the way. Maybe even an unscrupulous dealer at delivery?

The last 2 PO's (of course according to him) never drove it in winter, and it wouldnt surprise me given the low km (74k km when I got it). Theres really no telltale rust on anything I've seen underneath. He knows the last PO and says those were always the wheels on it. Sure they could have been swapped but im the 4th owner so the first guy would have had to do it.. always a possibility but why go from 18's to stock 17's.. who knows.

More sidewall for a softer ride is all I can think of. Who knows? The rest of the car looks grea, and nice job with the clay. I clayed mine when I first got it and it the difference was amazing.
